Oregon State is a Best Buy School

It runs in the family: Barbra and Bob Mitchell, classes of 1987 and 1988, respectively, revisit campus with their three boys, Tristan, Lucas and Nick. Nick is currently a freshman at Oregon State.

That’s right, parents. Oregon State brings a lot to the table when it comes to getting your student out of the house and ready for a successful career. In addition to sheer pride, there are perks in this for you, too.

Want to turn that empty bedroom into an office? How about a craft or workout room? Man cave?

Send your student to Oregon State and you’ll get to do anything you want with that extra space, because we’ll get them what they need — at an affordable cost — for a successful career. Then they won’t have to live at home after college. Here’s why Oregon State’s a good choice:

  • Oregon State was ranked among 41 nationwide universities by the Fiske Guide to Colleges as a “Best Buy” institution. Simply put, we’ve been able to combine academic excellence and affordability to help kick-start professional careers.
  • True happiness is doing something you love, right? Well, Oregon State offers more than 200 nationally recognized programs for our undergraduates. On top of that, 71 percent of them end up earning jobs in the subject they studied.
  • Now, we know money isn’t everything, but it sure makes life easier. That being said, Beaver graduates bring in more earnings mid-career than those from any other college or university in Oregon.
  • Financial aid and scholarships are crucial in the higher ed world. At Oregon State, you’ll be able to take advantage of our resources and financial advice to help pay for college expenses, including tuition.

Not enough for you? Did we mention how awesome it would be to have your own private workout room?

See, we told you it was worth it.

Your stats are impressive. I live in Oregon and a number of people in my community have been enrolled in OSU. For 71 percent to end up with a job, in what they studied is great.
